Gus joins the EIA family with over thirty years of experience working with energy, utility, and heavy construction. Construction of such large structures requires extensive engineering and project management due diligence. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from NYIT, Gus honed his craft with LILCO while performing various management roles for seventeen years. He worked in and led teams that refitted power stations, built electric substations and gas regulator stations, and designed and installed thousands of miles of pipes and wires.
He has developed a solid foundation from being a part of and in managing construction operations. Gus learned that a team-oriented mentality and results-driven operation is the key to success. After LILCO, Gus obtained his Master's degree in Management Information Systems from the Polytechnic Institute of NY. The knowledge and skills that he learned allowed him to venture into the private sector of construction, where Gus successfully built the utility construction divisions for two privately held hundred million dollar companies. His skillsets and talent allowed him to perform Project Management, General Manager, and Vice President roles for these organizations and helped them grow in revenue year over year!
Gus assisted several construction companies by improving operations through cost and production metric development and implementation to sharpen his toolkit further. This at times involved the installation and training of third-party software or the development of databases and spreadsheets, which provided decision-makers the information they needed to be successful in their roles. His guiding principle in all his endeavors has been “operational excellence for sustainable success!”.
On the personal front, Gus and his wife of 30 years live in Smithtown, NY, with their dogs Pica and Boo. In addition to enjoying the outdoors, especially the water with his fishing rod in hand, Gus loves to spend quality time with his precious newborn grandson, Carter John.
In his role, Greg oversees the estimating team which works to provide accurate project costing through budgeting, hard bids, value engineering, & design build projects to our clients.
Greg brought a lifetime of experience in the electrical industry to EIA when he joined in 2015, knowledge that he started gaining since high school! After learning the field work, transitioned into an office role as an estimator and project manager for various companies across NYC over the past 20 years.
Since joining EIA, Greg and his team have a consistently healthy track record and win ratio – however, what is more important to him is creating long lasting relationships with both his peers and clients who can rely on him! “It’s more than about the project award for me, it’s rewarding to know that when a company or project exec or a fellow estimator has to get the job done, they know they can rely on me and my team to deliver.”
Greg lives in Connecticut with his wife Teresa, their two children Victoria and Matthew and their 2 dogs. They all enjoy spending quality time together skiing, biking, having dinner with friends and going to Cape Cod in the summer. On weekends Greg can be found attending their daughter’s gymnastics meets and their son’s soccer games. When he has downtime, Greg can be found working on his Mustang, going to car shows and taking care of his aquarium.
